About

My name is Irina Tchaika. I am originally from Belarus and currently based in Sweden.

I have a background in philology, but creativity has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. In 2018, I discovered mixed media and encaustic techniques — and found in them the perfect language for my artistic vision.

Nature is at the heart of everything I create. Inspired by flora and fauna, I build layered compositions using natural materials — dried flowers, tree bark, stones, pressed leaves, and feathers — alongside beeswax, pigments, vintage lace, and found objects. Each piece weaves together texture, memory, and the quiet beauty of the natural world.

My encaustic paintings explore the luminous, translucent qualities of beeswax, embedding botanical elements into richly textured surfaces that glow with an inner light. My mixed media works combine collage, painting, and assemblage, telling stories through accumulated layers of meaning.
